A few months ago Mo introduced me to ChocoVivo and I was instantly a fan from the moment I sipped my very first Frozen Hot Chocolate! ChocoVivo makes chocolate from bean-to-bar. it is minimally processed dark chocolate with no milk powder, soy lecithin or additional cacao butter. Their mantra is “Simple is Better” and I couldn’t agree more as they make the most delicious chocolate I have ever had!
Mo and I ordered the 6 piece Chocolate Flight to share.
We picked out our chocolates and our Oompa Loompa arranged them in order of sweetness (with the most sweet chocolates at the end). Our selection included Coffee + Vanilla Bean and Hazelnuts + Sea Salt. So good!!!
We also both ordered Frozen Hot Chocolates! You get to custom design your drink with your choice of chocolate, milk (regular, brown-rice, hazelnut) or water and choice of ice cream (regular or dairy free coconut). They also have a selection of coffee drinks and mochas available.
It’s impossible not to smile when you are drinking one of these! Especially after shooting in the summer heat.
Mo just chillin’ with his frozen drink.
ChocoVivo’s chocolate is stone ground, which is how the Mayans and Aztecs made chocolate over 2000 years ago, grinding chocolate with a tool similar to a mortar and pestle, called a mano and metate.
Since chocolate comes from beans, does that mean it counts as a vegetable?
On the weekends, ChocoVivo also serves hot organic tamales in addition to their chocolate menu.
I brought one of these bittersweet chocolate chip cookies home for Mr. Pretty Little Shopper, just in time. They were nearly sold out by the time we left.
I also took home a couple of bars of chocolate. Fig and Almond for me, and Almonds and Sea Salt for Mr. Pretty Little Shopper.
You can visit ChocoVivo at 12469 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90066 or shop online here.
Chocovivo is open daily. See website for hours.
