Happy Valentine’s Day! My fairytale came true when I met my handsome husband. I will forever be grateful that he chose me to marry. I love all of the little traditions we have created, and picking out special cards for each other is something we do for every holiday and birthday. We almost always get them at Papyrus and once we actually bought each other the same exact card. 🙂
I hope you are enjoying a special weekend with your loved ones. On Friday night we had a fun little Valentine’s date with our neighbors and their three children. They brought over sushi and wine and we made the salad, desert, Valentine’s chocolate and even more wine! Their youngest daughter Caroline, who is now seven, had told me in advance that she would like to have a baking date. So after dinner, while everyone else settled in our family room for a game of monopoly, we made tarts and cookies. I even got a handmade teddy bear Valentine from Caroline. What a lovely little treat!
Last night we went out for a dinner date at The Ivy, which was twice as busy as usual the night before Valentine’s. Tonight we have decided to stay home and prepare a romantic dinner ourselves. This lilac colored gown is romantic, yet casual, so it’s perfect for a night in or a casual dinner by the beach. I styled it here with gold accessories, including my new Whiting & Davis bag which I have been dying to use. This bag was on my wish list for over a year and I was so happy to receive it as a holiday gift. Whiting & Davis has been creating handbags since 1876! This bag comes in gold or silver and will make you feel like you are stepping out of The Great Gatsby.
