While many people associate sunscreen with Summer, to me it’s an essential 365 days a year. In fact, when asked in an interview once about the three things I couldn’t live without, I said sunscreen, my husband and red wine… Not necessarily in that order, but you get my drift. 🙂
When I was in my early twenties, I had a really scary incident with a basil cell carcinoma. It ended up being non malignant, but I can still remember the hard bump that grew next to the side of my nose and hearing the doctors knife cutting it out. Luckily the local anesthesia worked so well that I couldn’t feel a thing, but I will never forget that sound or the tugging and pulling of my skin while it was getting sewn back up. It was then that the importance of sunscreen became a daily habit, but choosing the right facial sunscreen was still tricky. I needed to find one with a high SPF, but also one that wouldn’t cause my sensitive skin to breakout.
The Jan Marini line was introduced to me by a skin care professional many years ago and it’s definitely become one of my favorite go to lines for skincare. While you will always find a handful of Jan Marini products on my cosmetics roster, the Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant is one that I never let run out. I love how the sunscreen doubles as a moisturizer and use it to hydrate my skin just before applying foundation.
Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant comes in SPF 33, SPF 45 and also a tinted version in two shades. Living in a sunny beach town, the importance of sunscreen has become as much a part of my daily routine as brushing my teeth and kissing my husband in the morning before he heads off to work. Add a hat, a cute pair of sunnies and a swipe of lipstick and I’m good to go.

I agree- sunscreen everyday is so important! So scary that you had to have a sunspot cut out, thank goodness it was non malignant.
I like the tinted sunscreens the best- 2 jobs done in 1!

I live in a small part of Italy where there is no sea, so no tanning onn the beach. But I love a little bit of tan on my skin (during winter I’m sooooo pale I look like a feverish ghost) but I don’t want to damage my skin! So, yes, I completely agree with you: sunscreen is mandatory!
Yes sun screen and moisturizer is an absolute must for me. I’m starting to get those sun spots on my cheeks so I am pretty vigilant when it comes to sun screen. I really want to try this one though!!
This is important year round! Sounds like a great product!
i need to buy a new one! thanks for reminding

This sounds like a wonderful product. I completely agree with you, sunscreen is so important for everyday use. But it is something I used to ignore in the past too. I love that it’s a moisturiser and sunscreen in one :). I will definitely check out Jan Marini.

Yes! Another pale gal here, and I have hiperpigmentation issues since childhood (back then susnscreen wasn’t a thing in my country). We are massive sunscreen consumers in my family and I have trained my hubby and both my children to wear sunscreen all year round. I love the Coola range, also Avene and Daylong for heavy SPF and waterproof products.
I wish I was wiser when I was a teenager because I hardly used any sunblock and it damaged my skin. Now I dont get out without a thick layer on!
