Two days into my last trip to Europe my face became extremely dry and painful. The long flight and two days of sight seeing made my skin feel and look like sandpaper. Good thing I didn’t know this photo was being taken or I might have hurled the camera off the bridge.
I got back to my hotel that night and booked an emergency facial for the next morning. Luckily I was staying at The Mandarin Oriental, a hotel group who is known for having world renowned spa treatments. This was definitely one of the most beautiful spas I had ever visited! Housed in a formal chapel, the spa’s contemporary design incorporates some unique features such as the illuminated foundations of a former 14th-Century church, displayed below the glass floor of the lobby. I was greeted by the receptionist and asked to change out of my shoes and into a pair of sandals to symbolize leaving my troubles at the door. Then I was led into the changing rooms and lounge to enjoy a cup of tea and wait for my aesthetician.
My treatment began with a ceremonious ringing of a bell to begin our ritual. I selected the Aromatherapy Facial which included a hydrating treatment and the Galvanic machine.
When the treatment was over my facialist recommended I purchase a few products she had used on me from a line called Aromatherapy Associates. I chose just one which was described to me as a probiotic for the skin. The next day my skin felt so great that I wished I had picked up a few more of the products! Unfortunately I had to leave for the airport before the spa even opened, but that afternoon I arrived in London and checked the site for Aromatherapy Associates whose only store happened to be less than one mile from my hotel!
After a beautiful walk through Hyde park I arrived at Aromatherapy Associates spa and retail location. A very helpful salesgirl gave me lots of advice on which products would be helpful to my skin. I settled on the ROSE HYDRATING FACIAL MASK and the SOOTHING DAILY REPAIR MOISTURIZER which complimented the INSTANT SKIN SMOOTHING SERUM (which I had already purchased in Prague). I also left with lots of samples!
Here is my skin after three weeks on the Aromatherapy Associates line and after a treatment with my regular aesthetician Biba www.bibawesthollywood.com.
I ended up placing an online order a few weeks later and added the FIRMING EYE SERUM and the DEEP CLEANSE FACIAL MASK to my collection. I also ordered one of their Aromatherapy bath serums called RELAX DEEP. I get pretty stressed out and take a long time to fall asleep so I was really excited that this product really works! I couldn’t wait to order it after the sample they gave me but it turns out that the aromatherapy line is how the company started in 1985. The company has since expanded quite a lot and their products are now sold at exclusive hotels, spas and retail outlets in over 40 countries worldwide! Also, they use all natural ingredients (no parabens, SLS or GM’s) and the products smell and feel amazing! I’ve been trying to talk one of my friends into opening the first Los Angeles franchise since I got home!
