Happy Monday! In keeping with my tradition over the last few years, I’m sharing my 2020 Oscars Red Carpet Favorites. I don’t remember the Academy Awards ever falling in the middle of NYFW before, but let’s just say a lot of Hollywood’s top celebrity stylists and fashion elite, clearly did not make their way onto last night’s red carpet. There seemed to be one to many gowns that looked like they might have come from the Lord of the Rings Couture Collection.
My personal highlights from the show were Julia Butters, Cynthia Erivo and Geena Davis. Butters who stunned in her gown for this years Golden Globes, showed up pretty in pink for last night’s ceremony. Cynthia Erivo’s incredible voice as she sang best original song nominee “Stand Up” from the movie Harriet led the audience to a well-deserved standing ovation. While Erivo didn’t take home either of the Oscar’s she was nominated for last night, I’m sure there will be many more nominations in her future! And can we talk about how stunning Geena Davis looked in her gown by Romona Keveza?
My worst dressed award would have to go to Kristin Wiig… I have no idea what could have been going through her mind when she choose such an oddly ruffled dress with black gloves reminiscent of the reality makeover show The Swan. Luckily she redeemed herself with a fun fashion song medley, while presenting the Best Costumes award with fellow funny lady Maya Rudolph. Scroll down for my slightly shorter than usual list of 2020 Oscars Red Carpet Favorites.

Let’s be social!
I loved Scarlett Johansson, Regina King, and Sandra Oh this year. Honestly, I think the dresses were better than previous years, but I’m no fashion expert.

I was really trying to like Sandra Oh’s dress, but ultimately I just couldn’t get around those sleeves… which is saying a lot for me as I’ve rarely met a puffy sleeve or ruffle I didn’t like. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the Red Carpet this year! Do you follow all of the awards shows?
