Happy Monday! Did you watch the 2019 Emmy Awards last night? As has become my tradition the last couple of years, I wanted to share a round up of my favorite Red Carpet looks. Can we talk about Zendaya? I am absolutely dying over her stunning Emerald green Vera Wang dress! This girl not only continually amazes as an actress, but she’s also definitely earned her place as a fashion force to be reckoned with! Other standouts included Kathryn Newton, Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (who took home 3 Emmy’s) and Laverne Cox. Props also go to Gwendolyn Christie in her fabulous gown from Gucci Resort’s 2020 Runway Collection. While normally I prefer more traditional Red Carpet style, at 6’3″ Christie really pulled this look off this look with a royal flare! I also love how she submitted herself for an Emmy for her incredible performance as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones. While she didn’t win, the crowd really went wild over her touching remarks.
There were also LOTS of misses on last nights 2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet. While I do like to keep it positive here on the blog, I must say that a good portion of last night’s attendees seemed to be dressed more appropriately for the Met Gala Costume Ball. If you don’t believe me, check out Pure Wow’s coverage here. While I completely honor and respect free speech and expressing oneself through fashion, I also think there’s a time and a place for everything and the place for everything and some of these looks might have been better saved for a Halloween party.
