Happy Veteran’s Day! I hope you had a great weekend! It’s still super hot in Los Angeles, so this is my attempt at a Fall in LA look. The past few years we’ve been having warm weather well into October and November, so I’ve had to be creative with my Fall looks… check out a few of my past favorites here, here and here.
This dRA dress, which was part of my last Nuuly rental, is the perfect transitional dress for a warm Fall in LA look. Just pair with booties and add a hat… or a sweater and tights if it’s actually cool outside. 🙂
To be honest, between the launch of The Fash Life, trying to get back up to speed with the blog and getting our house ready to put back on the market, I haven’t been getting out enough lately. I was really happy to remedy that by spending Saturday at the BlogHer Biz conference, which was an event designed to help influencers and entrepreneurs build a scalable business from the content they create. The event was held at The Riveter in West LA and included an immersive day of workshops and networking with speakers including Kate Somerville, Molly Sims, Maggie Q, Jennifer Powell, Heidi Nazarudin, Sherita Rankins and so many more. The main thing that stood out to me at this event was hearing from so many women who had faced one rejection and obstacle after another and still managed to keep on going and rise to success.
The other things that made the conference especially meaningful was to be able to attend with my producing partner Rebecca, reconnecting with some of my blogger friends I hadn’t seen for awhile and meeting up IRL with a few blogger babes that I’d gotten to know online over the past couple of years. I was also really excited that a few girls had actually already heard about and seen some of our episodes of The Fash Life! While we still have a long way to go, it definitely made me feel like all of our hard work was starting to make a dent in building awareness about this project we’ve been working on for such a long time.
After the conference we headed to Ristorante Peppone to meet Mister Pretty Little Shopper for dinner and a belated celebration of our launch. I keep hearing about how important it is to make time to celebrate small wins and it’s something I haven’t been doing because I’m always too busy getting stressed out about the next obstacle ahead. One thing I’m working on right now is to start enjoying the process of learning new skills and turning each obstacle into a chance to think outside the box and creatively overcome challenges.

And speaking of milestones… I will be speaking at Digital Hollywood this Wednesday as part of the Three Day Influencer Intensive on “Maximizing the Power of Social Media Reach.” I’ve been attending Digital Hollywood for years and it’s my very first time participating on a panel! There are still tickets available for the conference and there are some comp tickets available for Influencers. Send me a message and I’ll make sure you get on the list. If you’re planning to attend please let me know as I’d love to meet you in person!
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! Please tag me on Instagram with you Fall in LA looks! I would love more outfit inspo to get through this heat wave.
