I’m so excited to share a first look at my new home bar and this festive Holiday Moscow Mule recipe cocktail (aka a Yule Mule). When my friend Sheree gifted me these fabulous copper mugs a few months ago, I knew a recipe would be in order.
Believe it or not, I had never tried a Moscow Mule before I got these mugs, but I’ve definitely become a fan! After researching traditional and holiday Moscow Mule recipes, I put together my own little twist with a shot of organic cranberry pomegranate juice. Being such a big lover of both cranberries and pomegranate’s this seemed liked the perfect combo! Mo didn’t want to drink while we were shooting, so we ended up coming up with a Mocktail version as well. Scroll down to get both recipes.
Holiday Moscow Mule Recipe:
2 oz. Vodka
2 oz. Cranberry Pomegranate Juice (I used this one)
4 oz. Ginger Beer (I used this one)
To garnish:
Fresh Cranberries
Fresh Rosemary Sprigs
*I recommend using organic ingredients where possible
Method to Make the Holiday Moscow Mule:
Combine the vodka, ginger beer and cranberry pomegranate juice in your copper mug and give it a little stir. If you are making more than one drink at a time you might want to combine in a cocktail shaker.
Add Ice and garnish with the cranberries and rosemary. You can thread the cranberries on a toothpick if desired, like I did here.
Copper Mugs
The Copper Mug is essential for a Moscow Mule and Holiday Mules are no exception. Beyond the traditional aspect of the drink, purists insist that the cold metal insulates the temperature of the chilled ginger beer, keeping the cocktail cool and refreshing. The Copper Mugs are also a great hostess or holiday gift idea… you can even create your own Holiday Moscow Mule Basket and include your favorite vodka, ginger beer and cranberry pomegranate juice along with the copper mugs!
