WINTER FASHION – Part I

Lisa: I’m on a lot of fashion websites, so for me Winter Fashion normally starts by becoming familiar with the lines of my favorite designers and starting to pick out pieces that I am interested in based on what I might need and what I fall in love with. Normally I don’t start making many purchases until Cyber Wednesday when the really great sales begin. I did purchase a few items early this year though.

I got these Adriano Goldschmied black distressed jeans at the Rebecca Taylor store (107 S. Robertson Blvd., Los Angeles). I figured this look would sell out fast and these are my first pair of black jeans but they go with everything.

I also ended up purchasing a pair of red pumps on Gilt. I had been searching for a pair of red platform pumps for months, which were hard to find in the summer time… although I did find a lot of satin and pony hair pumps in a variety of colors. I chose this pair by Camilla Skovgaard for their height and classic silhouette.

I paired this look with a beautiful beaded sweater from Alice and Olivia (134 S. Robertson, Los Angeles) … a steal I found on Black Friday… for a perfect holiday look.

Molly: I enjoy looking online and seeing what my favorite designers are making. Then I compose a Christmas list showing what I like. Luckily, hardly anyone my age wears clothes from the Brooks Brothers line for children. Almost everything on their sale page is in stock in my size! My searching really paid off this year when I found some white Juicy jeans on sale on the Saks website.

Lisa: And your first winter outfit this year came from one of our first stops on Black Friday.

Molly: This outfit, thrown together from Brooks Brothers is my new favorite.

Molly: Not only does it look nice, it also enhances spirituality. How could this be? For me, nothing makes me more excited to go to Mass than debuting a fresh outfit. I feel a rush as I strut down the red-carpeted aisle as the rows of jean-clad people look questioningly at me. Another plus to this outfit is, believe it or not, its comfort. I ran errands with it and didn’t take it off for hours after I got home.
