While gingham is a style that is typically associated with Spring and Summer, I’ve definitely found myself embracing this fabric for Fall over the past few years. Today I’m sharing a few tips on how to create a Fall clothing transitional look with your favorite gingham pieces.
Fall Clothing: Gingham
Pair Gingham Fall Clothing with Knits
I styled these gingham pants with a cable knit sweater for the perfect preppy Fall transitional look. You can also try layering a gingham blouse, skirt or dress with a knit cardigan or pullover sweater.
Add a Leather Bag and Shoes
While I typically style my gingham looks with a strappy sandal for Summer, I swap them for a pair of leather pumps, mules or sneakers for Fall. Additionally I swap out my straw Summer bags for a leather handbag or crossbody. You can opt to match your bag to your gingham like I did here, or choose a contrasting bag for a pop of color.
Style Gingham with Denim or Leather
Pair your favorite gingham top with a pair of jeans and classic pumps for an easy Fall transitional look. If you live in a climate where the weather isn’t freezing yet, you can also style your favorite gingham dress with a leather jacket and sneakers for a cute and comfy Fall look.
